Installation Technology

At AutoSquad we know that the right tools can make all the difference between a great experience and, -- well, one that ends up with one star on Yelp. So we start with high-end, sophisticated equipment. Then we send our techs to school. They learn all about removing and installing tires including what not to do. And, not to go too techy on you, we have procedures that ensure that we handle your car safely from lifting it to inflating the tires to tightening the lug bolts.

If your car is a 2007 or model or newer, it has Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors on the tires. While these sensors ensure your safety, they require special handling. But don’t worry, our technicians are well equipped to handle or even replace your TPMS sensors. A little known fact is that these important pieces of safety equipment run on batteries. Unfortunately, the batteries wear out after 4-5 years. So if we are replacing tires on your 2007 or newer vehicle, you probably want to add some new TPMS sensors in there.

Scratch Free Tire Mounting

Scratch Free Mounting
It doesn’t matter what you drive, we’ll give your vehicle the white glove treatment. Our high-end tire mounting machines can handle ultra low profile tires, large 22 and 24” tires and even expensive alloy wheels seemlessly. A special “mounting head” prevents metal-to-metal contact while twin Teflon breaking rollers provide “no-violence” breaking. The rollers gently pinch the two beads together rather than using a side-breaking shovel to rupture the bead.

Dynamic Tire Balancing - an AutoSquad Standard

Here’s a little fun fact for you. At 60 miles per hour, an average tire rotates 850 times per minute. At this speed, an out-of-balance tire can wobble and vibrate 14 times a second. Uncorrected, this vibration can lead to discomfort, noise, tire wear, damage to suspension and steering systems, and unsafe steering and handling. As you might guess -- that’s not a good thing.

To achieve the best balance possible, our computerized equipment performs dynamic 2-axis balancing to correct weight imbalances on two weight planes (up-and-down and side-to-side). This service is our standard balancing on all tires installed and assures that the center-of-gravity of each wheel, as it turns, is at the center of the axle. Some other tire installers - in fact most -- still use static balancing that only addresses “up-and-down” imbalance. To ensure an accurate balance and a smooth ride you need dynamic balancing.

Road Force ® Balancing - for smoother results

If you have low-profile or performance tires, this service is for you! With Road Force Balancing, our sophisticated equipment places your wheel and tire assembly under a load to simulate the weight of your car on the road under actual driving conditions. This advanced balancer helps our technicians diagnose variations in tire sidewall stiffness and rim imperfections that can be a source of additional vibration even if the wheel are tire are properly dynamically balanced.

Our technician will remount the tire on the rim to achieve the best vibration-eliminating alignment of wheel and tire (similar to noise-cancelling headphones). The result:  a tire/wheel assembly that is as round while rolling as possible. Road Force® also detects rim runout and other wheel defects, which static or dynamic balancing cannot diagnose.

At AutoSquad, we take wheel balancing one step further by selecting the best tire for each rim, and the best axle position on your vehicle for each tire/rim assembly to deliver optimal handling.
